#Transform My Truck: the countdown begins

In no time at all June will be upon us, so TTA thought it might be worth issuing a timely reminder that not only is the summer solstice edging ever closer, but also the deadline for the #Transform My Truck art’s competition is almost up. Entries for the exciting competition close just before midnight on June 22nd

The good news is if you haven’t yet submitted your artistic masterpiece, then there’s no need to panic: you still have nearly 4 weeks to wow us with your drawing and painting skills. Mind you, if the standard of submitted entries we’ve received so far is anything to go by, then you’ll have to come up with a stunning and creative design. The standard has far surpassed anything we had expected. The quality of painting and drawings we’ve received has been superb, and the interest we’ve received from children, schools and parents across the North West has been truly overwhelming. All we can say is thank you, and keep up the good work.

What is the #Transform My Truck competition?

Well, if you haven’t yet come across it, #Transform My Truck is an amazing arts competition which is intended to inspire young people to think about what the logistics is all about. TTA wants young people to use their imaginations and talents to transform the side of a blank 7 metre rigid truck. What we’re asking pupils from schools across the North West to do is to use their creative skills to transform this blank canvas into a work of art by drawing or painting a design which shows the different forms of transport used to get goods from one location to another: that includes all forms of transport, from forklift trucks to airplanes and everything in between.

Who can enter the ‘#Transform My Truck’ competition?

The competition is open to all school children in the region. Two winning designs will be chosen: one from the Under 12 age category, and the other from the 13 to 16 age range. The two winning artists will not only have the satisfaction of having their design proudly displayed on one side of our truck, but will also win a £100 Amazon voucher and a grant of up to £500 for their schools. TTA will also be offering runner-up prizes in both categories: £50 worth of Amazon vouchers and a £300 school grant for second places, and £30 worth of Amazon vouchers and a £200 school grant for third places.

During the campaign Transport Training Academy’s blank truck has visited schools across the region; from Blackburn, Burnley, Pendle and Chorley, to Liverpool, Manchester, Whitefield and Prestwich, to name but few. On our school visits we’ve given pupils the chance to take part in an interactive workshop where they learned about the logistics sector and the varied career paths and opportunities that are available within the industry.

If you would like us to visit your school over the course of the next few weeks, then simply contact us on, visit our Facebook page @TransformMyTruck or contact us on Twitter @TTAcademy1 and we’ll do our best to arrange it – time permitting.

The competition closing date is 11.59pm on Friday 22nd June. Judging will take place by 13th July and the winners will be announced on 16th July. The winning truck designs will be unveiled in September, 2018.

To be in with a chance of winning this special prize, you’ll need to download the Transform My Truck picture template from our website and send your completed entries to
