More than a third of all reportable injuries each year are caused by the transporting or supporting of loads by hand. Injuries most commonly include sprains and strains, damage to the back and hernias. Employers have a duty of care to ensure that hazards are identified, their risks assessed and steps are taken to control these risks.
The Manual Handling course helps to equip staff with the knowledge and skills to be able to carry out manual handling safely and without risk of injury. At the end of the course attendees will be able to handle and lift reasonable loads safely and efficiently, minimizing the risk of injury and strain.
