TTA adds a new addition to its Training Fleet

TTA is delighted to announce that it has added a new vehicle to its Training Fleet. The vehicle in question is a Scania P230, two pedal opticruise 18 tonne truck: also now known as T55 TTA. If you’re more old-school and would prefer your vehicles described in more of a layman’s terms, then what we’re talking about here is a Rigid/ Class 2/ Cat C Automatic.

Why has TTA decided to purchase an automatic truck for its Training Fleet? Well, it’s simple really. We did it because of the ongoing changes within the industry, and, most importantly of all, because of customers demand. There are also other added benefits to having an automatic truck in the fleet. Firstly, it gives our learners choice in terms of training vehicles – they can choose whether to learn in one of the manual vehicles in our Training Fleet or opt for the new automatic Scania.

All TTA’s instructors have received Vehicle Familiarisation training direct from Scania. This extensive training has given our instructors an invaluable insight into the vehicle’s capabilities: this will then enable our driver training team to pass on this knowledge on to our learners.

We’ve already successfully managed to train customers whose physical barriers have meant they were unable to operate a manual vehicle with a clutch. We will obviously continue to offer this important training but will also now offer Manual Gear Box Conversion courses for individuals who have passed their test in our Automatic Vehicle but want the knowledge and experience of driving a manual vehicle.

If you would like to know about our new training vehicle, or would like further information on our extensive portfolio of driver training courses, then please contact a member of our training team on 0845 056 0561.
