TTA receives ITSSAR-re-accreditation for both its Atherton and Burnley training centres

TTA is delighted to announce that it has received ITSSAR re-accreditation for both of its logistics and transport training centres in Atherton and Burnley., and can therefore  continue to deliver ITSSAR-accredited training for class B1, C1, D1, F1, F2, M1, P1 and MEWP Group, 1A, 1B, 3A, 3B, Abrasive Wheels, Loading Shovel and Lorry Mounted Loader. Transport Training Academy is very proud to receive the acknowledgement and recognition from such a well-respected body, and even more proud of the staff whose hard work and dedication helped us secure our re-accreditation.  So well done and congratulations to each and every one of you.

What is ITSSAR and what does it do?

ITSSAR, the Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register, is a founding member of the industry-driven and non-profit-making Accrediting Bodies Association Work Place Transport (ABA) 2012. This body was set up to agree and maintain a common and comprehensive set of standards for the basic skills required to operate workplace transport equipment. ITSSAR recognises, approves and accredits a full range of courses throughout the UK, including Counterbalance, Reach, Powered Pallet Trucks and Manual Handing among many others and monitors standards for a broad range of mechanical handling equipment to guarantee the highest quality of training within the workplace.

What are the benefits of ITSSAR accreditation and what does it mean for TTA and its clients?

The basic aim of ITSSAR-accredited training is simple: to improve the standards of training and safety in the operation of industrial trucks, plant equipment, cranes, abrasive wheels, manual handling and lifting slinging and signalling.

ITSSAR accreditation brings numerous benefits, both for Transport Training Academy and for trainees attending our transport and logistics training courses.

For clients and trainees, it means that they are assured that the standards of training they will receive will be of the highest quality, as the standards ITSSAR sets for registrants are not only current and comprehensive, but also far exceed the standards set by the Accrediting Bodies Forum, 2000.

For Transport Training Academy the benefits of ITSSAR accreditation are:

  • Low costs because the scheme is industry driven and non-profit-making.
  • Covers all sectors of industry.
  • Access to information that will assist TTA in maintaining standards of training far beyond the required minimum.
  • Inclusion in the ITSSAR Directory.
  • Access to training aides and literature.
  • Activities are independently monitored.
  • All instructor registrations are verifiable by certificate and identity card which include a photograph for recognition and security.
  • A national database (TOPS Scheme) for use by accredited training organisations.
