May logistics training news: what a difference a month makes

What were you and your business doing for the last weeks? No doubt you were kept busy dealing with the aftermath of Easter. Well, Transport Training Academy have certainly been kept on their toes for the last few weeks. Still, we can’t complain: we wouldn’t want it any other way, in truth.

So what has one of the North West’s leading logistics training organisations been up to during the last few weeks? Well, plenty of things; but here are just a few of the things that have kept us occupied:

  • We are running our first CILT (UK) Management CPC Road Haulage at the Training Hub @ TTA, Burnley.  We are delighted that our customer-base in the East Lancashire area has increased so much. The demand has been so great that the course is already full. We’ll publish the results as soon as we have them.
  • TTA is delighted to announce that our suit of Driver CPC modules has now been re-accredited by the Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (JAUPT) for delivery over the next 12 months.
  • We have also added a new module to our range which is an overview of the Operator’s Licence: this new module has been designed to give drivers a greater knowledge and understanding of the operator licence and the associated legislation. The module will also help drivers appreciate the potential problems that could arise should they not adhere to the operator licence protocols. The module should also help drivers understand why Transport Managers ask for things to be done in a certain way.
  • TTA have decided to undertake driving assessments on all members of the team who use or might use one of our company vehicles. You may wonder why we’ve done this. Well, the reason is simple: we realise that all our vehicles are branded, and as such are our biggest mobile advertisement. So it’s only right that we ensure that all members of the TTA team drive our vehicles in a safe and appropriate manner.

What do the next few weeks have in store for TTA? Well, hopefully more of the same. We like to keep busy, even when other businesses might be considering winding down for the summer, and we’ll continue to support, embed and promote equality and diversity and safeguarding in all our training.   More news on that next month.
