TTA Director, Rachael Scanlin, joins the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) UK’s Lancashire Committee

TTA is proud to be a member of the prestigious Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) UK – an association which operates globally with over 33,000 members working in over 100 countries. We are proud because CILT is the recognised professional body representing the Supply Chain, Transport and Logistics Industries worldwide. We are now doubly proud to be a member of CILT because our Director, Rachael Scanlin, has become a member of CILT’s Lancashire Committee.

Rachael joined Transport Training Academy in 2011 and brought with her over 15 years of practical knowledge experience of the logistics industry’s training requirements, and an understanding and appreciation of the operational constraints faced by the logistics industry.

Rachael is also a true advocate of driver development, having been involved in the initial ‘Think Tanks’ for the Driver CPC with the DSA. She is also passionate about the need for equality within the industry and has striven to make the industry a viable career path for women and the younger generation. So, as far as we’re concerned, she was an obvious choice for an appointment on CILT’s Lancashire Committee.

So how does she feel about her appointment to the Lancashire CILT committee, and what will the new role entail? Well, here’s what she had to say:

“I’m absolutely delighted to have been asked to become a member of the CILT Lancashire Committee. It’s an honour and a privilege to be associated with such a well-respected and prestigious organisation. I will do my very best to promote the logistics industry throughout the region, and will work hard to repay the faith and trust that has been placed in me.”

“Being a member of the committee for Lancashire allows me to assist with the promotion of CILT in the Lancashire area and increase membership. An essential part of my role will be to keep abreast of any policy changes and understand what implications these changes will have on the logistics industry. I’ll also be working hard to ensure that the events which we schedule will be of interest to our CILT members.”
