TTA attends learndirect Lancashire SME Learning and Development breakfast networking events

Over the last few weeks learndirect has run two Lancashire SME Learning & Development breakfast networking events which Transport Training Academy was delighted to have attended. The events, which were held at Brockholes, Samlesbury on April 27th and Ribby Hall, Wrea Green on May 11th, were part of a brand-new Lancashire-wide programme, designed to publicise funded training opportunities for employers of all sizes across the county to help them plug the skills gaps in their business, whatever their sector.

Both learndirect breakfast networking events were very well received by everyone who attended and gave employers and training organisations like TTA an invaluable opportunity to meet with other businesses and chat and share information about the funded training available for all business sectors across Lancashire.

Who are learndirect and how are they helping the business community in the North West?

Learndirect is the UK’s largest integrated provider of skills, training and employment services, and offers funded, accredited training for employers of all sizes. The aim of its funded training programme is to improve the confidence and efficiency of staff through new skills and qualifications, help tackle skills shortages and improve business productivity through tailored training delivered direct to staff at business premises or at local centres.

Learndirect offers EU, Skills Funding Agency and Lancashire Enterprise Partnership-funded training packages which have been devised to meet the specific challenges facing businesses in regional area. Investing in the skills of people is always good for business: however, for employers across the North West striving to improve their productivity while facing multiple skills shortages, investing in skills is essential.  By investing in these skills regional employers can both ensure that their existing workforce has the right mix of skills to meet demand and keep up with new technologies, and that they are able to attract new talent to replace experienced staff who are retiring or moving on.

TTA would like to thank learndirect for the invitations to the Lancashire breakfast networking events and is already looking forward to the next one.
