TTA awarded DVSA Module 4 accreditation

TTA is delighted to have been awarded accreditation to deliver and undertake Module 4 examinations at its training headquarters in Atherton, Lancashire. TTA is one of a select few driving schools from across the country who have been chosen to take part in the new DVSA pilot scheme, and we are absolutely delighted to have been recognised for our consistent delivery of high quality training.

What will this new accreditation mean for TTA as a training organisation, and what benefits will it deliver for our candidates? The person best placed to answer those questions is TTA Managing Director, David Coupe. Here’s what he thinks of Module 4 accreditation.

What is Module 4 accreditation?

“It’s an accreditation from the Driver Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). That’s the same awarding body who carry out driving tests for cars, buses, mini buses and trucks. This new accreditation now means we can not only train drivers, but with the accreditation we can now also examine them too.”

What does a module 4 examination involve?

“It’s a practical safety demonstration test for learner drivers, conducted in accordance with the provisions of EU Directive 2003/59/EC, The Vehicle Drivers (Certificates of Professional Competence) Regulations 2007 and The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations. The practical safety demonstration test focuses on vehicle safety and security and requires learner drivers to carry out a physical demonstration around the vehicle of their knowledge and understanding of safety rules and proper vehicle use, security of the vehicle and its contents, preventing criminality and trafficking in illegal immigrants, safe loading and safe security, assessing emergency situations and preventing physical risk.”

What does this accreditation mean both for TTA as a training organisation and the candidates?

“It certainly brings some extra kudos for TTA. This is a pilot scheme that the DVSA have only just rolled out. TTA and 18 other driving schools around the country are accredited to carry out these examinations. The new accreditation will also make our operation more efficient as we will now be able to train multiple candidates at the same time, rather than individual ones. In terms of our students, I think the major benefit for our candidates is that they’ll be able to do all their training and be examined in one location and in nice familiar surroundings. That will hopefully make their experience less stressful and more relaxed.”
