TTA is delighted to support CILT (UK) at two Future Careers Fairs for young people in the North West

TTA is delighted to be working with and supporting the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) [UK] at two North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce Young Chamber careers days this month. At the Future Careers Fairs for young people we will be promoting the Logistics Industry to college leavers in the North West.

The Future Careers Fairs will be held at:

  • Runshaw College, Euxton Lane Campus, Euxton Lane, Chorley, Lancashire on the 8th March,

and

  • Preston College, St Vincent’s Road, Preston, Lancashire, on the 16th March

If you, or anyone you know, is interested in a future career in the Logistics Industry, or is wondering what career choices are open to them after completing their formal studies, then why not come down to one of these events. By attending one of these events you’ll hopefully be able to:

  • Find out what industries you can get into in your area
  • Talk to businesses and ‘have a go’ at real work activities
  • Talk to other employed young people and get their views on future careers
  • Get involved in interactive workshops to better prepare you for the world of work
  • Gather information on apprenticeships; what is involved and how to apply, and
  • Gather information on enrolling in College or University courses

Why choose a career in logistics?

Well, the answer is simple. The Logistics Industry is thriving, it’s worthwhile and, most importantly of all, it’s sustainable. The industry is currently worth over £80 billion to the UK economy, and it employs 2.3 million people across 196,000 businesses: that’s 1 in 12 of all the jobs in the UK. However, the future of the Logistics Industry depends on bringing through a new generation of enthusiastic, well-trained workers, as without new blood, the industry would struggle to keep its head above water.

Why choose a Logistics Apprenticeship?

That’s also simple. The sector is full of opportunities for those who are willing to work and learn. Whether you’re looking for a practical job working with vehicles, jobs dealing with customers, behind-the-scenes jobs, jobs on the road, warehouse jobs or international jobs, the logistics sector has something to offer almost everyone with the right training.

That’s where Transport Training Academy comes into the equation: we train young apprentices and prepare them for a life in logistics and endeavour to support, embed and promote equality and diversity and safeguarding in all our training.
