TTA is delighted to join the Greater Manchester Learner Provider Network

Transport Training Academy is delighted to announce that it has joined the Greater Manchester Learner Provider Network, GMLPN.

The GMLPN is the proactive community of Skills and Employment Providers in the Greater Manchester area, whose goal is to encourage a greater awareness of skills and vocational pathways and to strive to secure a more effective alignment of the economy with the skills system and to encourage employers to invest in their human capital. By working together with GMLPN, TTA hopes to be able to better promote skills and employment in the Greater Manchester region.

What does the Greater Manchester Learner Provider Network do?

Well, the GMLPN – working jointly with the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation and in partnership with the Greater Manchester Colleges Group and The Growth Fund – established a group called GM Futures, with the intention of making the skills system work better for the people, businesses and communities of Greater Manchester.

Why has Transport Training Academy joined GMLPN?

It’s simply because we believe in the work they are trying to do, and because we wanted to join a network of likeminded-businesses who share our vision and passion in training and developing individuals within the local area.

TTA is fully committed to helping to shape the future of Greater Manchester, and we will endeavour to be actively involved by sharing best practice, thoughts and ideas with other members of the network. Our experience, knowledge and passion of the Logistics industry is vast, and we believe that with our sector expertise being a key priority for Greater Manchester, we can assist in developing successful solutions to provide skills and employment.

What does TTA hope this new partnership will achieve?

We may have grown significantly over the last few years: the successful sector-specific Pre- employment provision which we deliver at Atherton is already currently achieving 62 per cent employment outcome. However, we still feel that future capacity-building can be achieved by being part of network of well-regarded and established training providers. Membership will also enable us to share best practice. The network will no doubt provide TTA with the most up to date information in terms of policy and funding, and this will turn maximise our prospects for future business. It will give us partnership and bidding opportunities, enabling us to develop in line with our strategic business plan as well as enhancing our current provision. Perhaps just as importantly, it will give us a voice on the future of our industry.
