News: what a difference a month makes

We’re not sure what October was like for you, but here at Transport Training Academy, one of the North West’s leading logistics training organisations, we’ve been kept very busy indeed. Still, we can’t complain; we wouldn’t, after all, want it any other way. So what’ve we been up to during the last few weeks? Well, plenty of things; but here are just a few for starters:

  • New vehicle added to the Driver Training Fleet

TTA are delighted to have added another vehicle – a Scania Rigid – to our Driver Training Fleet. The new Rigid is a sister vehicle to other one in our fleet which gives parity across the board.

  • R Swains Open Day

During October TTA held an Open day at R Swains to source a Traffic Planner Apprentice. The event went really well and was attended by 20 keen youngsters looking to carve out a future in logistics. We will be making our decision shortly.

TTA has always been a keen advocate of apprenticeships. The training is not only important for giving the next generation of workers a head start in their careers, it is also vital for the longevity of the logistics industry. TTA plays a small role in helping these young men and women achieve their goals and endeavours to support, embed and promote equality and diversity and safeguarding in all its training.

  • New Training Schedule

TTA has completed its new Training Schedule for both our Burnley and Atherton training centres. The new schedule will apply until June 2016 and this will be released on our website shortly and is updated at the end of each month.

  • Burnley Training Centre

Our new Burnley Training Hub was launched on Thursday 15th October is proving extremely successful. The launch has covered in numerous publications including Motor Transport magazine. Launch day itself was brilliant, and we’re confident that the new Burnley Hub will prove to be every bit as successful as our Atherton Head Office.

  • New uniform

TTA has now sourced a new uniform for all our Sales and Support Staff. The uniform is supplied by Keltic Clothing and is tailored in charcoal grey and red.

  • McMillan Coffee Morning

TTA were delighted to support Macmillan Cancer Support by running our own Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 25th September. The event started at 10am, and by the end of the day we’d managed to raise £180 for this noble and admirable cause. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event, where we hope to raise even more.

We’ve absolutely no doubt that November will prove to be even busier. More, next month.
