Transport Training Academy officially opens new Burnley logistics training hub

After months of careful planning and preparation, North West logistics training organisation, Transport Training Academy, officially opened its new training hub on Thursday, 15th October.

Based in Burnley, East Lancashire, Transport Training Academy’s new training hub was officially opened by Matthew Kibble of Matthew Kibble Transport Group in front of an audience of local hauliers, Job Centre personnel, employment agencies, MOD personnel and other logistics industry stakeholders.

TTA was originally founded in 2004 with the objective of delivering driving assessments to small and medium size transport companies. Since then TTA has developed and expanded and now offers a variety of training courses to the Transport, Distribution and Logistics sector regionally and nationally.

Speaking at the official launch, David Coope, Transport Training Academy’s MD said:

“We are absolutely delighted to have officially opened our new training hub. It is definitely a welcome addition to the TTA portfolio. We already have a great facility in our Head office in Atherton to service our existing customer base in and around the Greater Manchester region, but felt we needed to extend our reach further. By locating the new training facility in Burnley we knew we could give the business a further footprint in East Lancashire.”

“We have every confidence that the new training facility will prove to be a great success, and add extra value to the TTA brand. We will be delivering a wide range of training courses at the Hub. In addition to Apprenticeships in Driving Goods Vehicles, Logistics Operation and Driver CPC training, we will also be delivering Manager CPC, FLT, Licence Acquisition and Traffic Planner training courses,” he added.

His optimism was echoed by fellow director, Rachael Scanlin. Speaking at the launch she said:

“We’re delighted to have now opened the new training hub, and believe it will prove to be every bit as successful as our Atherton facility. We’re passionate about training and supporting, embedding and promoting equality, diversity and safeguarding in all our training. We understand that the driving sector is facing significant problems in the short term, so it’s incumbent on local companies like ours to play a part in training the next generation of drivers to safeguard the long-term future of the logistics industry.”
