TTA is delighted to announce its first summer intake of DGV apprentices

TTA, the North West’s leading training organisation is a firm believer in the value of apprenticeships. We know that attracting new and enthusiastic recruits is vital if we are to maintain a thriving and prosperous Logistics Industry. That’s why we have been, and will continue, to work in partnership with local businesses to train the next generation of LGV and HGV drivers, and aim to deliver local jobs for local people.

So we’re delighted to be able to announce our first summer intake of apprentices: Jack Hickson from KC Jones, Conor Lowes from Matthew Kibble and Daniel Freeman from R Swains. All three apprentices are undertaking a one year DGV training course. The course includes the DGV application and also incorporates a class 2 licence upgrade. All three apprentices are doing well and have shown themselves to be enthusiastic and eager to learn. TTA wishes them well and is confident that all will pass the course with flying colours.

Why choose a Logistics Apprenticeship?

Well, because the sector is full of opportunities for those who are willing to work and learn. Whether you’re looking for a practical job working with vehicles, jobs dealing with customers, behind-the-scenes jobs, jobs on the road, warehouse jobs or international jobs, the logistics sector has something to offer almost everyone.

How can TTA help with your training needs? Well, we are part of the Supply Chain for numerous Prime Contract holders throughout the UK. This enables us to offer both individuals and company’s access to fully or part-funded industry recognised QCFs (NVQ) and Apprenticeships in a variety of relevant areas.

TTA offers Logistics QCFs for employees of the logistic industry who are looking to gain extra qualifications and training within the sector whilst also formalising their skills and knowledge. Apprenticeships are aimed primarily at individuals who are already working in the sector who haven’t got formal qualifications in that area. However, whilst the ‘Employed Status’ is the preferred route for all Apprenticeships, we also try to work to fulfil a company’s employment needs by placing individuals who want to work within the industry and who are willing to develop and grow with the business in a variety of roles. Wherever individuals are looking for opportunity, whether that’s within the warehouse, driving goods vehicles or logistic operations, TTA can offer full or part-time NVQs, QCFs and Apprenticeships which will not only enhance and develop the skills of the individual, but also secure the long-term future of the logistics industry.

TTA now offers the following courses:

  • QCF(NVQ) Level 2 Driving Goods Vehicles (DGV) – (approx. 6 months: funding available)
  • QCF(NVQ) Level 2 Warehousing & Storage – (approx 6 months: funding available)
  • QCF(NVQ) Level 3 Logistic Operations – (approx 9 months: funding available)
  • Apprenticeship Level 2 Driving Goods Vehicles (DGV) – (12 months: funding available)
  • Apprenticeship Level 2 Warehousing & Storage – (12 months: funding available)
  • Apprenticeship Level 2 Logistics Operations – (12 months: funding available)
