TTA celebrates 3 new apprenticeship successes

The future of the Logistics Industry depends on bringing through a new generation of enthusiastic, well-trained workers. Without new recruits our industry would struggle to keep its’ wheels turning. But in order to ensure that young workers are prepared for a life in work, they need to be trained correctly and they need to be fully prepared. That’s where Transport Training Academy comes into the equation. We train young Apprentices and prepare them for a life in logistics.

That’s why we’re delighted to announce that three more of our young learners have successfully completed their Apprenticeships:

  • Robert McLean, from Moorhouse Brewery in Burnley, has successfully completed his Level 2 Apprenticeship in Driving Goods Vehicles incorporating his Class 2 licence.
  • Jack Harker, from Matthew Kibble Transport Ltd in Nelson, has successfully completed his Level 2 Apprenticeship in Driving Goods vehicle again incorporating his Class 2 licence.
  • Roaseanna Wignall, from HPH Ltd at Preston, has completed her Level 2 Apprenticeship in Logistics Operations.

TTA would like to congratulate all our young Apprentices on their brilliant achievements, and wish them every success for the future.

But what did the Apprentices think of their experience? Well, we managed to catch up with Jack Harker, and here’s what he had to say:

Why did you choose to follow a Logistics Apprenticeship?

“I had an interest in logistics before I started my Apprenticeship with Matthew Kibble. I suppose it’s the sort of thing that’s been in the family for years. My father and uncles are also part of the industry.”

How did you find the course at TTA and what did you think of the training?

“I found the course was brilliant and really helped me a lot. I thought I might find it difficult to start with, but I got into it quite quickly. I enjoyed the course work. Even when we got stuck all we had had to do was ask Sharron my Assessor and the Instructors, and they’d tell us all we needed to know.”

What skills have you’ve learned during your Apprenticeship, and how do you think they’ll help you in your career?

“The course has given me new skills, and I think they will help me during the course of my working life. The best thing is those skills are transferable, so that will definitely help me.”

Are you going to be going back at TTA for more training in the future?

“Yes, I’m hoping to continue my training in the future. I would like to go back and get my Class One licence. When that happens I’ll definitely be going back to Transport Training Academy.”
