TTA To Put A & F Haulage Drivers Through NVQ Level 2 QCF In Driving Goods Vehicles and NVQ In Level 1 In Carrying and Delivering Goods Training.

TTA is delighted to announce that we are now working in conjunction with, A & F Haulage Ltd, a well-respected and successful road haulage company.

Based in Bolton, A & F Haulage specialises in the transportation of aggregates and asphalt. With over 70 vehicles at its disposal nationwide, A & F Haulage’s fleet of modern vehicles can move all size loads anywhere in the UK 24/7. The success of the company has been built on the quality of service it provides and on the excellence of its work force. However, like all successful companies A & F Haulage appreciates that the key to maintaining its excellent reputation training and enhancing the skillset of its drivers through work-based training. So the company has asked TTA to train their drivers and put them through their NVQ Level 2 QCF in Driving Goods Vehicles and NVQ Level 1 in Carrying and Delivering Goods training.

Why did A & F Haulage opt for this particular qualification?

Well, it’s simply because it is one which is universally acknowledged and respected throughout the Logistics Industry. Driving Goods Vehicles QCF Level 2 is designed to develop and enhance a driver’s skills to a higher level of occupational competence. What makes it different is that the qualification covers driving skills over and above that required for standard licence acquisition. It includes pre-driving checks, the correct operation of a Tachograph, loading of goods, and operating a laden vehicle with the driver’s usual load. The qualification also enables drivers to drive to a higher standard and demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of safety and security with an emphasis on the principles of Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving (SAFED). In short it teaches a driver to drive more efficiently and in a manner which reduces vehicle wear and tear, and that ultimately improves the profitability of any organisation’s bottom line. The added advantage of the qualification is that it is delivered and assessed in the workplace whilst employees carry out their daily duties, therefore reducing the impact on productivity and downtime.

Masood Chaudry, Transport Coordinator for A & F Haulage, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us as a company to not only invest in and develop our drivers ensuring that they are at the top of their game, but also for A & F Haulage to be promotors of continual professional development for their team”.

Speaking about the new working partnership, Rachel Scanlin, TTA’s commercial business and development director, said:

“We’re delighted to be working in conjunction with A & F Haulage. They’re a prominent company in the North West. They’re a local company with a big reputation, and share the same philosophy as Transport Training. TTA is looking forward to developing this local partnership further in the future and working towards safeguarding the long-term future of the logistics industry.”
