New Training Assistant, Teresa Bate, Joins Transport Training Academy’s Ashton-Under-Lyne Centre.

TTA is pleased to announce the recruitment of a new staff member.

Teresa Bate has now joined TTA as a training assistant at our Ashton under Lyne Training Centre. Teresa recently attended one of our Pre-Employment courses in Warehousing and Storage, and made such an impression, that she has now been taken on as a trainer. We are delighted to have Teresa on board and we know that she will be become a valuable member of staff.

During her career, Teresa has worked in a variety of different environments. She worked as an Athletics Sports Coach so has a sound background in teaching, and she has extensive logistics experience gained within the construction and warehouse industries.

Away from work, Teresa is a mother to two grown up children and is also a proud Grandma to her grandson, Lincoln. Her passion is art, design, and carving on slate as well as athletics and Shotokan karate. She is also an active member of the Military Vehicle Trust. Teresa joined up for the Army Reserves in 2014 as a Logistics support for the Royal Engineers. She is also a member of a choir which supports other military and ex-military personnel raising funds by singing at events.

Speaking about Teresa’s appointment, Rachael Scanlin, TTA’s Commercial Business and Development Director, said:

“Teresa recently attended one of our Pre-Employment Courses in Warehouse and Storage, and due to her dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to the course we felt that she was a suitable and valuable addition to the training team. So we’re absolutely delighted to welcome Teresa to team TTA.”

Speaking about her recent appointment, Teresa added:

“I was surprised when I was offered the position. I’d not really thought about it until the offer was made, but when it was I was absolutely bowled over. I love the job and for the few short weeks I’ve been here, it’s proved to be every bit as good as I hoped it would be.”

“I was impressed that they, [TTA] even had me in mind for the job, and obviously that’s given my confidence a big boost. I’ve been applying continuously for jobs without success, and it’s very dispiriting. So this has done my confidence the world of good.”

“I’m really excited about this job. I’m looking forward to taking everything in and learning as much as I can from now on in. I’ve been given an opportunity that many others don’t get, so I’m going to make the most of it and throw myself into the job wholeheartedly.”

“I’ve been doing the job for 5 weeks now and I absolutely love it. It’s tailor-made for me as I’m a people person anyway. In all my previous roles I’ve met and dealt with all sorts of people and I think I have the ability to get along with everyone. So the job is right up my street.”
